MY BOOK BEGINNING

They put me in a room with white tiles on the walls and a pair of long fluorescent lights glaring down from the ceiling.

-- The Last Dead Girl by Harry Dolan.

The Last Dead Girl is the third book in Dolan's David Loogan series.  In the narrative chronology, it is a prequel to the first two books, Bad Things Happen (reviewed here) and Very Bad Men (reviewed here).  This is a terrific series!

  3. Hi Gilion,

A very belated Happy New Year to you and a big thank you for sticking with Book Beginnings for another year.

It has taken me an age to post my link and write this comment, due to the amount of time I spent checking out this fantastic series and its brilliant author.

Those opening lines alone would have had me hooked, as I love a good murder / mystery, but I just had to add all three books to my reading list.

Thank you so much for this lovely feature post, without it the name of Harry Dolan might have remained unknown to me.

Have a great weekend, hope you are not too snowed in and that things warm up a little very soon.

    Yvonne.

  8. Those opening lines sound vaguely ominous. I think I've seen this book around but I'm not sure. Thanks for sharing it with us! :)

  9. That is an opening line for a thriller and I can 'see' the protagonist sitting in that room.
