Year in Review: 2009

It is the time for reminiscing and I have been enjoying everyone's wrap-up posts. 2009 was a good year, as far as books and blogging went. I read 110 books, which is about average for me (I will post a list soon); I reviewed about 90 books; and I posted 404 blog entries (much to my surprise).

In going over my reading list for the year brings back memories of some really good reads -- and a few I really disliked. There were a couple of books I got from publishers or publicists that I was very impressed with (The Tricking of Freya, Good for the Jews, and Basil's Dream, in particular), but my favorite books of 2009, in alphabetical order, were:

The Age of Reagan by Steven Hayward (Internet Review of Books review here)

Changing Places by David Lodge (reviewed here)

Franny and Zooey by J. D. Salinger (reviewed here)

Infidel by Ayaan Hirsi Ali

Sometimes a Great Notion by Ken Kesey

The Tenderness of Wolves by Stef Penney (winner of the Costa Book Award; reviewed here)

2009 favorites was the Booking Through Thursday question this week, although I am late to add my link.
