MY BOOK BEGINNING
There was a smattering of applause as Malcolm Fox entered the room.
-- The Complaints by Ian Rankin.
I have been reading his John Rebus series. The Complaints is the first book in a different series featuring another Edinburgh police detective, Malcom Fox. Good stuff.
Well! That very brief sentence certainly didn't give anything away and on the basis of that alone, I may consider not carrying on.
However, if I saw the name of Ian Rankin on the cover, there is no way I would cast the book aside, as I just know what a treat I would be in for!
Ian's books can always be guaranteed to offer an explosive read, with no holds barred action and an intriguing storyline on which to base his hard hitting narrative.
Excellent choice and I hope that you enjoy the book.
Huh...so he got an applause? I wonder why.ReplyDelete
