MY BOOK BEGINNING
The great malady of the twentieth century, implicated in all of our troubles and affecting us individually and socially, is "loss of soul."
-- Care of the Soul:: A Guide for Cultivating Depth and Sacredness in Everyday Life by Thomas Moore.
I've read a couple of his other books, but never this first one in his "Soul" series. This one is certainly making me think.
Mine is sort of a counterpoint to yours today. :) The Happy Atheist by PZ Myers begins here.
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday!
Hi Gilion, I'm not sure if it's my computer but I can't see the linky list, so I'm posting my link here, I hope that's ok? http://thelittlereaderlibrary.blogspot.co.uk/2013/06/book-beginnings-2.html

(Curl up and Read)
Mine comes from a Middle Grade book I'm reading with my daughter. It sounds like it's off to a gory start - put trust me - it really isn't at all.

I think I sort of agree, especially if you equate 'soul' with 'passion'. Not enough people are passionate enough about what they do and that just makes for lackluster living! Thanks for hosting, here's my post with 'Atlas Shrugged'.

ReplyDeleteI can only say that I agree with this statement. Empathy and caring seem to have been lost along the way. My Book Beginning is here: http://www.knittingandsundries.com/2013/06/6282013-friday-book-blogger-hop-and.html
ReplyDeleteSorry, I'm running late today. Here's my post:
