Mailbox President's Day
Thanks for joining me for Mailbox Monday! MM was created by Marcia at A girl and her books (fka The Printed Page), who graciously hosted it for a long, long time, before turning it into a touring meme (details here).
Metroreader hosting in February. Please stop by her fun blog to see what she is reading on her commute!
Only one book came into my house last week, but it is a book I've had my eye on for quite a while, so I am very excited.
Wild Fermentation: The Flavor, Nutrition, and Craft of Live-Culture Foods by Sandor Ellix Katz, with a Foreword by Sally Fallon.
I've wanted a copy of this ever since Hubby gave me a German sauerkraut crock for Christmas. Not romantic, I understand, but what I really, really wanted.

So I take it you will be making homemade sauerkraut -- yum! I love sauerkraut and try to eat at least a few times a years -- especially on New Year's Day.
ReplyDeleteBon Appetit!
Yes! I already made one batch that we are eating now. It tastes delicious, but I wish is was crunchier. I'm trying to figure out how to fix that.
ReplyDeleteInteresting. My mother told me her mother made her own sauerkraut and they ate it every day.
ReplyDeleteI think it is a wonderful book and the crock is a wonderful gift. I love sauerkraut but we don't have it much. I think I am the only one who eats it. Homemade sounds delicious!
ReplyDeleteYes it's romantic - you really wanted it! :) I have an uncle who makes his own sauerkraut.
