Truly Madly Guilty by Liane Moriarty -- BOOK BEGINNING

BOOK BEGINNINGS ON FRIDAYS

It's the beginning of December and time for Book Beginnings on Fridays!

Sorry I was MIA last week! Thanksgiving messed up my mental calendar. It was Friday evening before I realized I had forgotten to post, and by then I figured it was too late. So please excuse the unexpected holiday and welcome back!

What are you reading this week for Book beginnings? Please share your post in the linky below. If you post on social media, please use the #bookbeginnigns hashtag.

MY BOOK BEGINNING

From Liane Moriarty's novel, Truly Madly Guilty:

“This is a story that begins with the barbeque,” said Clementine.

I was late to the party with Moriarty's books. It took me a long time too read Big Little Lies. When I did, I loved it. I've gone on to read The Husband's Secret, Nine Perfect Strangers, and now this one. I love their fast pacing, wit, and relatable female characters. I've read them all with my ears because the narrator, Carolyn Lee, does a terrific job and I enjoy her Australian accent.

MY FRIDAY 56

“Isn't it quiet when Daddy leaves the room?” Tiffany said to Dakota, who lay on her side on the long bay window seat, curled up like a cat in a rectangle of quivering morning sunlight. Barney, their miniature schnauzer, lay next to Dakota, his nose and paws resting on Dakota’s arm, his eyes shut so all you could see were his big, bushy eyebrows.

One silver lining of corona canceling most Christmas festivities this year is that I hope to get a lot more reading done this month than I usually do in December. I'm looking forward to cuddling up in front of the tree with some good books and warm drinks or adult beverages. How about you?

  1. Your December plans sound perfect. Perhaps I'll work on my TBR list, which now includes Liane Moriarty's books. Thank you.

  2. Hi Gilion,

This isn't typically the kind of premise which would immediately grab my attention, however I have been branching out quite a lot lately, reading some books which are far outside my comfort zone, so never say never!

Given that a vaccine is far away for so many of the population, I think that the UK government has been very silly in opening up the country for a 'mix it', 'get together' Christmas, but it is what most people seem to want and think is okay!!

Us? We are hunkering down at home, not wanting to take any risks when a potential end is in sight. So here's to some great festive reading! :)

    Take Care xx

  3. I still haven't gotten onto reading Liane Moriarty, despite loving the TV adaptation of Big Little Lies. You've given me the inspiration to give it a try for Christmas! I hope you have a lovely weekend :) Juli @ A Universe in Words

  6. I think I have this one on my e-reader somewhere. I've read two of Moriarty's books and enjoyed them.

November was a dismal reading month for me and I hope December will be better. My head just isn't where it needs to me for it, I guess. That and too much else going on.

I hope you have a great week!
