But it is hard -- you can't write or read a Civil War novel without the field hospital scene of sawing off a leg with a hacksaw. It has to be there; but they are all the same. One hacksaw amputation scene is the same as the next. And I am not a big enough person to get past this issue and appreciate the Gilion at Rose City Readerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18080293172467000794noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4508267865632365231.post-88335459136247099422009-06-05T17:35:35.402-07:002009-06-05T17:35:35.402-07:00I have not read this book yet, but it sounds like ...I have not read this book yet, but it sounds like something I would enjoy. There is just a feel about them that I can't get past and few make it onto my favorites list. While I did think Little Women was compelling at least as a child, I didn't really like Geraldine Brooks playing about with the characters I loved when I was little.

Thank you for linking!Meghanhttp://chikune.com/blognoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4508267865632365231.post-36739846253639437842009-06-05T12:22:28.035-07:002009-06-05T12:22:28.035-07:00I meant did not.I meant did not.Rebecca Reidhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06062252252301802298noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4508267865632365231.post-79174969789356532442009-06-05T12:21:25.971-07:002009-06-05T12:21:25.971-07:00I haven't read many Civil War novels, so I enj...I haven't read many Civil War novels, so I enjoyed it.
