That's why I always go back and will eventually read every one of his LA books, and probably the rest of the Texas and Montana ones as well.Gilion at Rose City Readerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18080293172467000794noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4508267865632365231.post-89128737289363685782012-07-07T22:29:56.957-07:002012-07-07T22:29:56.957-07:00RCR and Bob - well, yes. I read ...Bob -- I definitely go through JLB phases. I read a couple and think they are the greatest thing ever, then I hit a wall. I get tired of the creepiness of the criminals and the dry drunk preachiness of Robicheaux. When that happens, I take a break -- sometimes for a couple of years. But I always come back.Gilion at Rose City Readerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18080293172467000794noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4508267865632365231.post-40915257413662060842009-09-06T18:29:12.058-07:002009-09-06T18:29:12.058-07:00It's been a couple of years since I've rea...It's been a couple of years since I've read JLB, because I needed a rest from all Robicheaux's violence and self-destructive alcoholism. But by God, Burke is a good writer. I will pick up Tin Roof Blowdown.

Thanks for the tip.

Bob Sanchez
http://bobsanchez1.blogspot.comBob Sanchezhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08350825385315155962noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4508267865632365231.post-74651473396199200252009-09-06T12:54:52.096-07:002009-09-06T12:54:52.096-07:00Bermuda -- Yes! My parents live on the Mississippi Gulf Coast & I have family in New Orleans, as well, all of whom were directly impacted by Katrina. We were at my parents' the first Christmas after & saw first-hand the devastation - at that point, 4 months after the Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00374987261333318644noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4508267865632365231.post-9004483301956083872009-09-06T09:04:37.525-07:002009-09-06T09:04:37.525-07:00I keep hearing great things about James Lee Burke&...I keep hearing great things about James Lee Burke's work, and have one of his books in my TBR pile.
