Thanksgiving is the gateway to Christmas, so my favorite time of the year has now officially started! Time for some thematic blogging.
Of course, Charles Dickens's A Christmas Carol is a long-standing tradition. I have it and his other "Christmas Stories" ready to go on my iPod, since I am in a Dickens mood lately. But now I am going to add The Man Who Invented Christmas by Les Standiford to my holiday reading list, thanks to a great review by Ruth Douillette over on the Internet Review of Books. Standiford has written a mini-biography of Dickens, focusing on the circumstances surrounding Dickens's self-publication of A Christmas Carol. Sounds great!
